Urasenke Headquarters in Kyoto, Japan, has announced that Wakasosho Sen Soshi will succeed as the 16th Generation Urasenke Grand Master on January 1, 2003.

Urasenke Headquarters in Kyoto, Japan, has announced the succession ceremony for Zabosai Oiemoto on December 22, 2002.

Masakazu Soko Izumi, the second son of Hounsai Daisosho and brother of Zabosai Oiemoto, passed away in Kyoto, Japan, at 1:05am on Sunday, February 2, 2003, of kidney failure at the age of 44.
